    Mike Duffy

    • The disgraced former senator member of the Conservative cabinet was appointed by Mr. Harper. Mr. Duffy was charged with fraud, bribery and breach of trust relating to the Senate Scandal.  The trial is ongoing.

    • The suspended Conservative senator, appointed by Mr. Harper, is under investigation for fraud and breach of trust relating to the Senate Scandal.

    Patrick Brazeau

    • The suspended Conservative senator, appointed by Mr. Harper, has been charged with breach of trust and fraud relating to the Senate Scandal. Additionally, Mr. Brazeau has been charged with sexual assault and assault, cocaine possession, uttering death threats, and several alcohol related charges.

    Bruce Carson

    • Mr. Harper employed Bruce Carson as a senior advisor from 2006 to 2009 despite being convicted of five counts of fraud in the 80s and 90s.
    • Since leaving the PMO Mr. Carson is alleged to have  illegally lobbied Indian Affairs to get water contracts potentially worth millions of dollars. The deal, which Mr. Carson witnessed, ensured twenty percent of gross profits went to his fiancée.
    • In 2014 Mr. Carson  was charged  with another count of influence peddling and illegal lobbying for work he did for the Environment and the Energy Policy Institute of Canada.  Email’s show that during this time he was lobbying Harper’s Chief of Staff Nigel Wright.
    • While Mr. Carson was at the Prime Minister’s Office, Mr. Harper’s Chief of Staff Guy Giorno wrote two letters to the ethics commissioner on Mr. Carson’s potential conflicts

    Dr. Arthur Porter

    • Dr. Porter was appointed as chairman of the Security Intelligence Review Committee of Canada in 2008.  In 2011 he resigned after the National Post exposed his connections with a ‘notorious international lobbyist’ and the government of Sierra Leone.
    • Dr. Porter had wired $200,000 to Ari Ben-Menashe, a businessman and arms dealer who acted as middleman between Russia and developing countries to further a venture in Sierra Leone.
    • Dr. Porter had strong ties with Sierra Leone and was named Ambassador Plenipotentiary by its president.  He unsuccessfully tried to use his Ambassadorship to claim diplomatic immunity in 2013 when he was arrested on charges of fraud in connection with the Montreal University Health Centre scandal.
    • When asked about his 2008 appointment as Canada’s Spy Watchdog, Mr. Porter stated that “I believe I disclosed everything.  They know what I do.”

    Dean Del Mastro

    • Mr. Harper appointed Mr. Del Mastro as parliamentary secretary to the Prime Minister in 2011
    • He was put in charge of the government’s response to the robocall scandal in parliament.  In the 2011 Election he himself was behind robocalls designed to confuse voters in his Peterborough riding.  s
    • In 2014 Mr. Del Mastro was found guilty of violating the Elections Act by exceeding the $92,566.79 spending limit, exceeding his own donation limit, and filing a false return. He was sentenced to one month in jail.
